Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola says the type of players he would like to sign up for is not usually available during the January transfer window.
Guardiola's team are in the middle of the Premier League title race and are still in the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, and Champions League.
But Guardiola has made it clear that City is unlikely to make any hiring this month and - before Monday's game against Wolves - he pointed out that January is not his preferred schedule for the transfers.
He said, "Sometimes we did [signatures made in January].
"But usually we buy a player, it's for the next five, six years - and usually that kind of situation in this transfer window does not happen.
"For lenders, maybe this can happen, but I think big clubs do not buy players for only five or six months and do not sell in that period.
"If you have no injuries, if you are satisfied with the players, the team you have, you go with them."
