Chelsea New Signing Alvaro Morata And His Jersey Number

The fans of Chelsea have been grinning from ear to ear, as it is now given that the club is on the verge of sealing the deal that would bring Los Blancos hitman Alvaro Morata to Stamford Bridge. Reports have claimed that a £70m agreement was reached between Chelsea and Madrid for the player’s transfer.
Having quizzed Chelsea players regarding a move to the Club, Morata arrived London on Thursday morning for his medical with the Club to finalise his transfer.
The Spaniard was unsettled at Real Madrid following his lack of game time and he informed his friends he wanted out of the Santiago Bernabeu but Man United thought to be his most probable destination. United stalled over a move for the Spaniard and signed on Belgian stalwart Romelu Lukaku.
Chelsea had other target but Conte fancied the Spaniard as the man to replace the transfer bound Diego Costa. The Blues are currently in the far East for their pre-season but they are without an established striker. Morata will now join up with his new teammates as they step up preparations for their title defense of the upcoming season.
Morata is set to become Chelsea’s fourth summer signing after Willy Cabellero, Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko and his transfer fee eclipses £50m the Blues signed Fernado Torres from Liverpool in 2011 – Morata is currently Chelsea’s Club  record signing.
Morata wore the No. 21 jersey at Madrid; the shirt number transfer bound Nemanja Matic currently dons for Chelsea. However, the former is likely to wear the No. 9 which the reportedly outgoing Diego Costa leaves behind.
