Mo Salah needs to be careful he does not get a reputation with referees for acts of simulation.
The Liverpool striker is a wonderful player who I enjoy watching — but he has been involved in four penalty cases within the last month.
Salah won deserved penalties against Arsenal and Brighton. But on the other two occasions, against Newcastle and on Saturday against Crystal Palace, he has clearly tried to deceive the referee.
Match official Jon Moss played on but Salah should have been cautioned for his latest act of simulation, I felt there was no contact whatsoever.
My worry for Salah moving forward is that his actions are starting to place doubt into match officials’ minds and he may not get a decision he deserves when it really matters.
Referees don’t want to be fooled and this disease needs to be eradicated from the game.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s Salah, Harry Kane or Jamie Vardy, who have all been guilty of this offense recently. We need to cut simulation out.
