Chelsea have beaten Liverpool and Manchester United in the transfer race of British centre-back Ethan Ampadu.
Exeter City starlet has joined Chelsea’s U-23 side and continue his development to secure place for the Premier League champions starting lineup in the nearby future.
The 16-year-old centre-back who can operate as a defensive midfielder has made 16 appearances for the League Two club last season and had trials with Liverpool and Manchester United.
However, Antonio Conte’s side have won the race and must now agree on a compensation fee for 16-year-old Welshman.
Exeter manager Paul Tisdale has confirmed the departure of Ampadu and wished him all the best in his new club.
