Chelsea star Alvaro Morata has deleted an Instagram post in which the striker suggested he was targeting a return in the Blues’ clash with Crystal Palace on October 14th.
Morata was forced off during Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat against Manchester City on Saturday after injuring his hamstring.
The 24-year-old’s scored seven goals for the Blues since completing a club record £70m move from Real Madrid and scans showed he suffered a grade II hamstring tear.
Taking to his Instagram, Morata said he was working hard on his recovery and wanted to be back in time for Chelsea’s next game.
‘I have no time to lose! Working hard towards recovery!’ said Morata.
The Spaniard then put the ‘target’ emoji, followed by the words ‘Crystal Palace’.
However, Morata has since deleted the final part of the post in which he referred to the Palace game, in what could be a sign that his target was ambitious.
Chelsea travel to Selhurst Park after the international break and embark on a period in which they play seven matches in 23 days.
Morata’s scored five out of Chelsea’s six league goals in September and Antonio Conte will be keen to get the Spaniard back on the pitch as soon as possible.
