Liverpool will have to wait until this weekend to end their dismal run as Leicester stormed to a 2-0 win over Jurgen Klopp’s side at the King Power Stadium.
Klopp spoke with confidence ahead of the EFL Cup clash, despite three matches on the bounce without a victory, but goals from Shinji Okazaki and Islam Slimani sent the Foxes into the next round of the competition.
The Merseyside club play Leicester again at the same ground on Saturday and will be desperate for three points, with many fans convinced Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has brought a ‘curse’ to the club.
Since Oxlade-Chamberlain completed a £35million move from Arsenal to Liverpool this summer, the Gunners are yet to lose and Klopp’s men are yet to win – coincidence?
Liverpool’s bad run began with a 5-0 thumping away at Manchester City, before a frustrating draw with Sevilla in the Europa League and a draw at home to Burnley in the English top flight.
Klopp will be making several changes for this weekend’s clash at the King Power Stadium, but will Oxlade-Chamberlain get another chance from the start?
